Nicholas J. Kiersey is an Assistant Professor in Political Science at Ohio University, Chillicothe. Recent peer-reviewed publications of his address the question of the 'world state', the globalization of liberal discourses of government, and the potential of Autonomist Theory for the construction of a global democratic polity. His current research focuses on the recent ‘debate about empire’ in International Relations Theory. He is also working on a edited book project with Iver Neumann on World Politics and Battlestar Galactica.
Nichlas holds a PhD in Planning, Governance and Globalization from Virginia Polytechnic and State University, an MSc (Econ.) in International Relations Theory from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and a BA in European Public Affairs from the National University of Ireland, Limerick.
